Because applications have been moving away from the mainframe onto open systems over the past few years, those applications remaining on the County of San Mateo's mainframe had become increasingly cost-prohibitive to operate. Thus, the County's Information Services Department recommended that the mainframe be retired once all relevant application environments were addressed.
Working in conjunction with the County’s IT team, Clerity is conducting a full system migration moving the County's CJIS IBM ® CICS ® online application components to UniKix Transaction Processing Environment software on open systems and batch application components to
UniKix Batch Processing Environment software. COBOL source code will be
migrated in this move and the County’s CA Datacom database will be migrated to
an Oracle relational database environment.
